ONE-ROOM SCHOOLHOUSES

District One had the Center School at 20 School St. It was built in 1800 and replaced by a brick building in 1844. That building was purchased and moved to 8 South Main St.
The building is gone but there is a plaque.
District Two had a school at 139 N Main St. built in 1800
It is a private residence that has been remodeled. (no picture)
South Schoolhouse, Spoonville Road

District Three, the South School, is located at 32 Spoonville Road and is now the Friend to Friend Thrift Shop. It was built in 1820.
The Thrift Shop is open on Tuesday/Saturday 10-2 and Thursday 12-4.
Proceeds benefit the Friend to Friend Food Pantry.

District Four, the Schoolhouse at 3 Old Road in the 4th district was built in 1817, rebuilt in 1840, and closed in 1899. There were many additions with the Schoolhouse in the center. (no picture)

District Five has the Copper Hill School at 23 Copper Hill Rd. Built in 1840.It is a remodeled private residence next to the church.
District Six built a school in 1798 at Hatchet Hill Road and Hartford Ave. There is no building left. (no picture)
